New Marketing Consultant at BCA

“It is an exciting opportunity to further assist cricket in Barbados and to develop the marketing unit at the Barbados Cricket Association.”

This statement was made today by Mr. Calvin Hope, commenting on the appointment on Tuesday of his company Market Sense Inc. as the marketing consultant to the BCA.

Mr. Hope said that “cricket is an important socio-economic vehicle for Barbados .  It is a unique brand,” he continued, “ which has to be protected and sustained, especially when we look forward to the England tour next year and the World Cup in 2007”.

Mr. Hope is an experienced marketing and tourism specialist who served at the Barbados Tourism Authority for some seventeen years.

Mr. Hope has tendered his resignation as a member of the Board of Management of the BCA to avoid the possibility of conflict of interest in his new assignment.  Mr. Hope however will continue to serve as Chairman of the Marketing Committee of the Association and as well as remain a member of the Senior Selection panel for the Barbados team.
