Belair Stars capture Charles Griffith St. John Invitational T20 Classic

Bridgetown, Barbados, December 1 - ( - Mark’s Auto Spares Belair Stars beat Dira’s Bar & Friends by a faster scoring rate after rain ended play to capture the second annual Charles Griffith St. John Development Council Invitational Twenty20 tapeball Classic on Independence Day, Saturday.

Chasing 118 to win in the Final at Gall Hill, Belair Stars were 42 for two off 6.4 overs.

After losing the toss, Dira’s Bar & Friends were given a solid start by Corey Scantlebury and Dwight Carter who added 55 in 10.2 overs for the first wicket before they were limited to 117 for eight.

Carter topscored with 36 off 41 balls including three fours and one six, while Scantlebury made 20.

Vataly Wilkinson contributed 20.

There were 31 extras.

Player-of-the-Match Javon Grosvenor took three for 25 off four overs.

The Belair Stars team included Barbados Pride fast bowler Chemar Holder, who picked up one for 16 off four overs.
