BNOC win opening match on tour to Canada

Montreal, Canada, August 13 - ( - Barbados club, BNOC, won the opening match of their Canadian tour of Montreal and Mississauga by seven wickets against Montreal Cricket Club in a Twenty20 at Douglas Hospital Ground.

The BNOC squad includes ten members from Barbados and other Barbados-born players who are now residing in Canada.

Matches have also been scheduled against Quebec Cricket Federation, Mississauga Ramblers Select X1 and Mississauga Ramblers Masters.

Squad: Anthony Morris (captain), Damien Payne (vice-captain), Owen Birch, Vonrick Nurse, Ronnie Gittens, Alex Gittens, Anthony Turton, Lionel Hackett, Gordon Maxwell, Mervin Grace. NB: Joining in Canada are David Nicholls (former Cable & Wireless player), Maurice Taylor (former Maple player), Dwayne Taylor (son of Maurice), Akiel Mollen (a Trinidadian).
