PRESS RELEASE # 34/06 |
July 25th, 2006 |

The Complaints and Disputes Committee of the Barbados Cricket Association met on Thursday, July 13, 2006 to hear the complaint lodged by PHD St. John’s Cultural against Combermere School arising out of the Sagicor Shield semi-final played on Sunday July 9, 2006. The Committee found that: 1) Both under the BCA Special Conditions and Regulations of Play for the 2006 Cricket Season Rule 18 (3) (c) and the Sagicor General Insurance Company Shield Limited Overs Competition 2006 Rules Rule 4 (b), the four (4) players at the centre of the complaint are eligible, as schoolboys, to play for two (2) different teams. 2) The Committee concluded that the intent has always been that schoolboys be treated differently from other players under both sets of rules. The Committee therefore dismissed the complaint.
