PRESS RELEASE

We have received several complaints and queries with regard to the availability of fixtures for the BCA Competition for the 2002 season and regret the developments which resulted in these delays.

The first of these developments to occur was that the completion of the fixtures was complicated by the fact that several clubs informed the BCA just prior to the season's start that their facilities would be unavailable for all or part of the season.  In many cases, this information was received after the fixtures had already been drafted.

The second problem was that our domestic season started May 18, 2002 and our international season included  two test matches at Kensington Oval, the last of which concluded June 23, 2002.  This additional work load made it very difficult for us to make the adjustments and readjustments that were required in view of the lack of availability of facilities.

We have now been advised by our Printers that the complete fixtures will be available by July 22, 2002 and copies can be collected during BCA office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on any day thereafter.

The BCA regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.
