Joel Garner   (President) Email
One of the game’s most effective fast bowlers, standing 6ft 8in, Garner, affectionately known as “Big Bird” was part of the menacing West Indies fast bowling attacks developed by Clive Lloyd in the 1970s.

He was known for his toe-crunching yorker that formed a major part of his armoury. He is one of five West Indian players with more than 250 Test wickets and his average of 20.97 is among the best in the world. Garner was always a handful in the shorter form of the game, boasting the impeccable economy rate of 3.08 runs an over and his haul of five for 31 against England in the 1979 World Cup final remains the best bowling performance in eight World Cup finals.
Today, he spearheads West Indies’ drive in Masters Cricket. He is the Chairman of the Barbados Selection Panel and was a former Barbados Captain. He has previously served as a West Indies selector, West Indies "A" team manager and a WICB director.

Joel is currently Chairman of the Foundation School’s Board of Management, and is the Technical Officer at the National Sports Council.
