Sagicor Cup - October 4 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Title holders ICBL Empire will clash with Inspire Sports Wanderers in the quarter-finals of the 2009 BCA Sagicor General Super Cup (50-over-a-side) championship on October 18.

Empire topped Zone ‘B’ with a better net run rate of 0.629 than TeleBarbados Carlton (0.500) after both teams finished with 20 points following the seventh and final round of preliminary matches today.

Under the captaincy of Kevin Stoute, Empire crushed pre-series leaders LIME by 102 runs at Wildey.

The win was set up by a hurricane century from Alcindo Holder, who made 136 off 104 balls with 15 fours and one six in a total of 251 for six after Empire were sent in.

Carlton kept their nerves to beat ESA Field Pickwick by nine runs at Foursquare Park.

The other two qualifiers from Zone ‘B’ were LIME with 16 points (NRR 0.215) and Pickwick 14 (0.001).

Guardian General Barbados Youth won Zone ‘A’ with 24 points (NRR 0.986), with the other teams advancing being Sagicor UWI 22 (NRR 0.989), BNB St. Catherine 18 (NRR 0.207) and Inspire Sports Wanderers 12 (NRR 0.097).

Quarter-finals: October 18. NB: Venues (all neutral) to be determined by the BCA.

Barbados Youth v Pickwick; Carlton v St. Catherine; LIME v UWI; Wanderers v Empire.

NB: Semi-finals are slated for November 1 and the final, November 15.
