Wickham stars with bat and gloves as Belair Stars capture Maxwell T20 title
Bridgetown, Barbados, August 3 – (www.bcacricket.org) - Set up by a solid, unbeaten half-century from Barbados Youth team player Kevin Wickham, Mark’s Auto Spares Belair Stars beat Caribbean Mix by 67 runs to capture the Maxwell Sports Club Twenty20 tapeball Tournament.
In the Final at Briar Hall, Christ Church on Saturday, Belair Stars scored 167 for six off 20 overs after they were sent in.
Player Of The Match Wickham, a Barbados Under-17 and Under-19 cap, scored 50 not out off 51 balls including four boundaries. He added 40 off just 4.2 overs for the first wicket with the Wanderers all-rounder Ryshon Williams, who made 31 off only 14 balls containing three fours and two sixes.
Caribbean Mix were bowled out for 100 off 18.5 overs with the topscore of 25 coming from the Empire opener Shian Brathwaite.
Wickham brought off two stumpings.
A product of Grantley Adams Memorial School, Wickham had the honour of scoring an unbeaten century (107 not out) on debut as a 15-year-old for Barbados Youth against Empire in the 2018 BCA Elite division Championship in the ninth and final series at Bank Hall.
