BCA Division 2 semi-finals resheduled

Bridgetown, Barbados, November 15 - (www.bcacricket.org) - The semi-finals of the 2019 Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Division 2 Championship, originally slated for November 16 and 23, have been put back to November 23 and 24.

The decision is due to the completion of a Series 10 Zone ‘A’ match between Roberts Manufacturing Sheffield and Benson Mini Mart Melbourne at Lower Estate on November 16. The outcome will determine the teams for the semi-finals.

December 1, 7 and 8 remain the dates for the Final.

In a media release, the BCA also confirmed that St. Mark’s Old Scholars (SMOS), at a meeting held on October 17 in the BCA Board Room and then confirmed by letter, withdrew from the Competition.

“We regret this untimely delay in making you aware of this fact, which affects the Second Division Zone ‘A’ standings.

The SMOS cited an inability to field a team as the reason for their withdrawal and unfulfilled commitments by one of their major stakeholders. They apologised for the unfortunate circumstances and the inconvenience caused.

All Clubs/Schools fixtured against the SMOS will receive no points.

“The Association extends best wishes to the management and players of the SMOS and looks forward to welcoming them back to competition as soon as possible.”
