Wet conditions delay start of play in two decisive matches, CWI Under-19, Round 5, Update 1

Kingstown, St. Vincent, August 6 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Wet conditions, caused by rain, delayed the start of play in the two decisive fifth and final round matches of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Under-19 one-day Championship today.

Front-runners Barbados, on 15.8 points, are opposing rock-bottom Leeward Islands at Park Hill, while second-placed Windward Islands, on 14.8 points, are clashing with Jamaica at Cumberland.

The other match features Trinidad & Tobago and last year’s champions Guyana at Arnos Vale.

Of a maximum six points attainable in a match, Barbados will be assured of the title if they gain 5.1.

Should the Windward Islands be also victorious, they must pick up at least 1.1 points more than Barbados to lift the Championship.

If both teams are tied on points, net run rate will decide the winners, as both teams would have won the same amount of matches.

Points going into the last round: Barbados 15.8, Windward Islands 14.8, Guyana 10.2, Trinidad & Tobago 8.7, Jamaica 4.6, Leeward Islands 4.4.
