Confident Barbados Under-17s again triumph over BCA Select Under-19s

Bridgetown, Barbados, June 27 - (www.bcacricket.org) - The Barbados Under-17 team will head into their defence of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) one-day title with confidence in Trinidad & Tobago next month following their dominance over a BCA Select Under-19 in a four-match warm-up series.

A 38-run win at Foursquare Oval today gave Nimar Bolden’s side a 3-1 success after they lost the first match by 91 runs at Queen’s Park.

Barbados Under-17s then triumphed by 72 runs at Weymouth and by five wickets at Queen’s Park.

All-rounder and vice-captain Jaden Leacock sustained his good form with the bat today, scoring 58 off 82 balls including five fours and one six in a total of 181 for nine off 50 overs.

It was the only half-century by a Barbados Under-17 batsman in the practice series.

Off-spinner Tariq O’Neale, son of the former Foundation, Lodge and YMPC batsman Ryan O’Neale, then grabbed four for 21 as the BCA Select Under-19s were bowled out for 143 in 33.2 overs.
