Barbados beat Windwards by 23 runs, Regional 1st-class, Round 8, Day 4, Update 5, RESULT

Kingstown, St. Vincent, February 24 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Barbados Pride beat Windward Islands Volcanoes by 23 runs - 20 minutes after lunch on the fourth and final day of Round 8 in the regional first-class Championship at Arnos Vale today.

Set 270 to win and starting the day on 181 for three off 63 overs, Windward Islands were bowled out for 246 in 96.2 overs.

Kavem Hodge topscored with 66 from his overnight 65.

Fast bowler Miguel Cummins was the leading wicket-taker with four for 53 off 17 overs.

Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican took three for 88 off 40.2 overs for a match haul of 11 for 133, and off-spinner Chaim Holder, two for 64 off 23 overs.

Today, Hodge, pushing forward, was bowled by Warrican (182-4; 64.2 overs).

Roland Cato, pushing, was caught at the wicket by Tevyn Walcott off Cummins for 31 after starting the day on 26 (193-5; 73.3 overs)

Denis Smith, defending, was bowled by Cummins for nought (193-6; 74 overs).

Ray Jordan was caught in the slips by Jonathan Carter off Cummins for one (198-7; 75.5 overs).

Sherman Lewis was caught by Walcott off Holder for 21 (239-8; 89.4 overs).

Alick Athanaze, prodding forward, was caught at slip by Carter off Holder for 33 (246-9; 95.4 overs).
