Brooks to captain West Indies President's team in two-day match against Bangladesh
St. John’s, Antigua, June 27 - (www.bcacricket.org) – Experienced Barbados Pride batsman Shamarh Brooks will captain a West Indies President's team in a two-day match against Bangladesh at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, starting Thursday, June 28.
Two other Barbados Pride players - opening batsman Shayne Moseley and fast bowler Keon Harding - are in the 12-man squad.
Also included is Leeward Islands pacer Alzarri Joseph, who had a lengthy injury layoff after suffering a stress fracture in his back on a tour of New Zealand last December.
Since April, the 21-year-old Antiguan has been involved in an intense programme focused on bowling and strength and conditioning. He played in an Antigua-based T20 competition last month.
Bangladesh will play two Tests, three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals against West Indies. The first Test begins on July 4 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
