Bishop to tour India with Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy

Bridgetown, Barbados, April 3 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Barbados Under-19 team left-arm spinner Joshua Bishop is travelling to India with the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy.

Bishop, a 17-year-old Alexandra student, who made his senior debut for Barbados Pride in this year’s Cricket West Indies (CWI) Super50 Festival, leaves for India on Wednesday.

His involvement with the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy (DLCA) continues the relationship initiated last year, when promising fast bowler Chemar Holder, now a Barbados Pride first-class and 50-over player, had a ten-week stint in Adelaide.

Providing opportunities like these for promising young cricketers is consistent with the Barbados Cricket Association’s effort at establishing developmental pathways that will aid players in reaching their full potential.

The Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy identifies overseas tours as a principal means to facilitate player learning in a high-performance environment.

Bishop is scheduled to return home on April 18.
