Four changes to Barbados Pride Super50 squad
Bridgetown, Barbados, January 23 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Four changes have been made to the Barbados Pride 14-man squad named last week for the Regional Super50 Championship, which will be played in Barbados and Antigua, January 30 to February 24.
They follow “discussions pertaining to the availability of West Indies ‘A’ team selectees” for the tour by England Lions to the Caribbean next month.
As a result, batsman Shamarh Brooks, wicket-keeper/batsman Shane Dowrich, left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican and fast bowler Miguel Cummins have been drafted in for Omar Phillips, Justin Greaves, Shamar Springer and Chemar Holder, who are now among as many as nine replacement players.
Apart from those with West Indies ‘A’ team duties, five other members of the Barbados Pride squad will be leaving for Zimbabwe in mid-February to take part in the ICC World Cup qualifiers in March.
In the Super50 Tournament, Barbados Pride are competing in Zone ‘A’ along with Combined Campuses & Colleges Marooners, Trinidad & Tobago Red Force Force, Windward Islands Volcanoes and English county side, Hampshire.
Zone ‘B’ comprises Guyana Jaguars, Jamaica Scorpions, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, United States and English county team, Kent.
Barbados Pride squad: Kraigg Brathwaite (Captain), Sulieman Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Shamarh Brooks, Jonathan Carter, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Ashley Nurse, Kemar Roach, Kevin Stoute, Jomel Warrican.
Replacement players: Dominic Drakes, Justin Greaves, Chemar Holder, Aaron Jones, Omar Phillips, Shamar Springer, Tevyn Walcott, Hayden Walsh Jr., Kenroy Williams.
