BCA Shield Final switched to Kensington Oval

September 19, 2016

In an effort to provide the best possible conditions for this year’s final of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Shield Competition, a decision was taken to have the competition climax at Kensington Oval.

While the Association remains committed to supporting clubs by keeping the sport alive within communities across the island, a change from Queen’s Park to Kensington appears the best option. Given the recent effects of rain on matches across divisions around the country, ‘the Oval’ provides the best facility in the event of inclement weather.

Additionally, there is no more fitting a stage for the final of a competition which began at the end of May, and has seen forty-three teams compete for a place in the grand finale.

After semi-final matches contested on Sunday September 18th, 2016 Psychiatric Hospital will meet Windward in the final on Sunday October 2nd, 2016.

Play is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m.

The Association extends a special welcome to all Barbados to come out and support the final, in this our fiftieth (50th) year of Independence.
