YMPC capture BCA Super Cup title after 21-year drought

Bridgetown, Barbados, August 7 - (www.bcacricket.org) - YMPC ended a 21-year drought of limited overs success by capturing the 2016 BCA Super Cup title with a 39-run win over Sierka Rentals Maple in the final at the Windward Club ground, Lucas Street, St. Philip today.

Chasing 149 for victory in 50 overs, Maple were bowled out for 109 in 47.4 overs.

Mario Albert topscored with 30 off 82 balls including one boundary.

Captain Khalid Springer made 23.

Left-arm spinner Nkosi Ross took three for 14 off ten overs to earn the Player-of-the-Match award.

Off-spinner Kemar Jabarry Smith picked up three for 21 and leg-spinner Mario Miller, two for 14.

YMPC were dismissed for 148 in 37.2 overs after winning the toss.

All-rounder Amal Nurse topscored with 36 off 48 balls including four fours and one six at No. 8.

Opener Steven Blackett made 33 off 34 deliveries including two fours and three sixes.

Seamer Springer took three for 11, off-spinner Don O'neal, three for 15 and fast bowler Kemar Roach, two for 37.

YMPC's last one-day title was in 1995 when they beat Spartan in the final at Kensington Oval.
