Banks to meet Lodge in BCA Intermediate final following protest
Bridgetown, Barbados, February 28 – (www.bcacricket.org) - The second semi-final match in the 2011 Intermediate division competition between Banks and CGI/Sandy Crest Maple had ended in victory for the Maple team. Banks, however, had protested the inclusion in the Maple team of one their players on the grounds that he was ineligible to participate in the match.
The matter was referred to the Complaints and Disputes Committee of the Barbados Cricket Association for resolution. The Committee upheld the protest and awarded the match to Banks.
Maple subsequently indicated an intention to appeal that decision but never filed the grounds of the appeal. The “appeal” was therefore dismissed because it was out of time.
The Final of the Intermediate Competition will now be played at the Police Sports Complex, Weymouth, between Banks and the Lodge School on March 24th, 25th, 31st and April 1st, 2012.
Play begins at 1.30 pm.
