Kingston, Jamaica February 11 – (www.bcacricket.org) – Jamaica, with a first innings lead of 130, were 78 for four off 34 overs in their second innings – an overall lead of 208 against Barbados - at the close of play on the second day of the second round 2012 West Indies first-class match at Sabina Park here today.
The not out batsmen were nightwatchman Andrew Richardson on eight and skipper Tamar Lambert, nought.
Left-hander Simon Jackson was caught by wicket-keeper Shane Dowrich off fast bowler Kemar Roach for 22 (57-1; 19.4 overs); his opening partner Danza Hyatt was also caught by Dowrich off Roach for 28 (58-2; 23.3 overs); Brendan Nash was caught at leg slip by Ryan Hinds off left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn for seven (71-3; 31.2 overs) and Donovan Pagon was leg before wicket by left-arm spinner Hinds for five (78-4; 34.4 overs).
Roach has two for nine off nine overs including five maidens.
Barbados, starting the day on five without loss, were bowled out for 157 off 57.3 overs in reply to Jamaica’s first innings total of 287 all out – 23 minutes before the scheduled tea interval. Tea was then taken.
Left-hander Omar Phillips, by nature an opener but who went to the crease at No.3 because of an injury to the hand sustained while fielding, topscored with 67 before he was last out, caught by Nikita Miller off fast bowler Andrew Richardson.
Phillips batted for 207 minutes, faced 150 balls and struck seven fours.
Left-arm spinner Miller was the main destroyer with five for 25 off 22 overs including eight maidens.
