Kingston, Jamaica, January 9 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Leeward Islands were 20 without loss off 15 overs in their second innings – an overall lead of 27 against Barbados – at the close of play on the second day of their 2010 West Indies Cricket Board first-class championship first round match at Kensington Park here today.

The not out batsmen were Kieran Powell on ten and Montcin Hodge, four.

From an overnight 74 without loss, Barbados were bowled out for 229 in reply to the Leeward Islands first innings total of 236 all out.

Opener Dale Richards and No. 3 Kirk Edwards were joint topscorers with 60.

Richards batted for 127 minutes, faced 103 balls and struck eight fours and one six, while Edwards was at the crease for 237 minutes, received 167 balls and hit seven boundaries.

Barbados lost wickets steadily after Richards and Jason Haynes (28) added 103 in 33 overs for the first wicket.

The next best partnership was 42 for the fourth wicket between Edwards and debutant Kyle Hope (22).

The last seven wickets tumbled for 74 runs.

Leg-spinner Anthony Martin took three for 38 off 19.1 overs and off-spinner Omari Banks, two for 41 off 18 overs.

Opener Dale Ricchards and No. 3 Kirk Edwards were joint topscorers with 60.

Richards batted for 127 minutes, faced 103 balls and struck eight fours and one six, while Edwards was at the crease for 237 minutes, received 167 balls and hit seven boundaries.
